Yeah, you probably will be. :( My regular doctor told me after about
one visit that I had neuropathy. But after some testing- blood work, EMG/NCV tests, a check for diabetes, visit with a PT- she sent me to a neurologist. I really don't think I'm any closer to figuring out what's wrong with me. I've been tested for most of the nasty stuff- Lupus, MS, cancer, etc.. They *can* seem to tell me (only after my second MRI) that I have some degeneration in my c-spine.. and a mass in my thyroid.. but that's about
it. Not even an episode where the left side of my body went numb, has brought them any closer to a diagnosis. They've got me written as having something called "Polymyalgia Rheumatica", but that is typically diagnosed in people over the age of 50. I'm only 32.
My next step is to see an allergist tomorrow, and then Thursday I go see a Lyme doctor in PA, to rule out chronic lyme. If all this fails, I'm probably headed to a rheumatologist.
Been in a rush this morning and forgot to add that I hope you do find out what's going on much quicker than most do. Maybe it's possible to just have "neuropathy" and that's that. However, I tend to think dr's really need to look deeper. WHY do you have the issues you're having? They need to rule other things out first, IMO.
