My 13 year old daughter may have MS. She has exhibited all the symtoms; the numbness, the tingling, loss of coordination, difficulty walking, migraines.
She just went to the hospital and they did all the tests: CT scan, MRI (showed no lesions), and a spinal tap.
We are still waiting for the results to come back as to whether or not it is MS, but it sounds like it, and her grandmother on her father's side has full-blown disabling MS.
One of my concerns at this point (and I know it may be premature, as we haven't had the definite diagnosis yet), is how long the exacerbations (flare-ups) would most likely last, and how it will affect her day-to-day activities and abilities -- specifically going to school, and any special needs she would need to have addressed.
Any insights into this aspect of the disease would be greatly appreciated..
