In other words, are you likely to have MS only if you have weakness or motor symptoms, like losing control of legs or arms, etc, unable to walk unassisted? I have only sensory (maybe also autonomic) symptoms. I am waiting on a neurology appt (tonight! finally!) and want to know what your experiences are. I have no idea what the neurologist will say, perhaps my symptoms are due to something else entirely, but I thought I'd ask you guys. I have autoimmune hypothyroid disease, and crohn's (maybe autoimmune).
Thanks
MS is a disorder of the central nervous system -- so indeed a person can have MS and not have any weakness or motor problems, or loss of control of legs or arms, etc. I know several folks with clear diagnoses of MS who have primarily sensory issues, fatigue, sometimes heat related issues...but walk just fine, move around just fine, have none of the weakness that many otehrs experience. But commonly people with MS do have the weakness that you describe.
But given the fact that you have one other autoimmune disease and possibly a second, it is quite possible that your issues are related to that, and not to adding on a 3rd autoimmune disease like MS!
