Hi :)

 

It's been a few weeks since I posted here, I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. I just wrote a HUGE long post and my pc lost it before I could post

 

To cut a very long story short (you probably should be happy my computer lost my post :) ) I had an ultrasound, the results showed a mass either in my uterus or on my left ovary. Panic, panic, all I could think of was ovarian cancer. Into the hospital 2 days later for a CT scan, 10 days of waiting and it was a fibroid PHEW!! Not that a fibroid is something to celebrate but a lot better than the alternative I was imagining.

 

Today I had to go back for the original CT scan scheduled a number of weeks ago. This was on my lower spine but I am convinced whatever I have is something above my waist due to symptoms I have.

 

I still have numbness in both legs and feet and my legs are very stiff some days but the hugging around my waist has dissipated a lot which has been a relief. I have however developed a weird sensation when I bend my head forward, I get a squeezing at the waist and a kind of shocking sensation in my left-hand fingers. L'hermittes??

Hey Calicorosie,

You have been on a crazy rollercoaster.  I am hoping it slows down for you real soon.  This is a lot to deal with.  It does sound like you have Lhermittes.  But remember that Lhermittes is a symptom of many conditions.  It can be from a herniated disc or other spinal problems.  Make sure you tell your doctor about it, what is feels like and when it started.  It is also a good idea to tell you doctor about your sensitivity to heat that mentioned in your other post.  Most people with MS have a sensitivity to heat however most return to normal functioning and sensation after they have had a chance to cool off.  For me, I just need about 30 minutes and I return to normal.  The fact that you felt it for the rest of the day is unusual.  Good luck

Hey Calicorose

All i can do is echo what Gretchen has already said. I agree completely. Do tell u'r doc about the possible Lhermittes and exactly how it feels to u. If u need, make a list or print our u'r post...but be sure to tell him/her about everything u'r experiencing. Please let us know how the ct scan goes and how u are friend. I'm so sorry u had such a scare, but thrilled that it turned out NOT to be cancer. Take good care and let us know how u are.

Hi again

I heard back from the Doctor's office today. The CT scan on my lower spine was normal which was what I was expecting actually. Now I just have to wait on the appointment with the neuro in December. Still numb in my toes and legs and trying to ignore it. I am pretty tired though each day and some days I could sleep forever.
