After a bout with the Rheumy who said I had a rare immune def syndrome and wrote labs from Anca, Ana, complements 3, 4 , c reactive protein, My neuro combined his with the ones from the larger hospital for vitamin d25 hydroxy, Homocystiene(sp), B12, methylmalonic Acid.
The neuro's office just called and said they were referring me back to the general doctor for these as some were abnormal but more in her realm. I'm still dx'd with MS for the neuro's care. When I asked what was abnormal she said she'd give me a couple of examples but let my general doctor explain the rest tomorrow. She said I was definitely vitamin D deficient. That my primary care doctor can tell me how to adjust that (id been taking supplements). The larger hopsital had told me they are finding that most MS persons are. Do they check this on people who've had it for a long time now?
I now have too much b12 she said (her second example) which means basically the injections I was on , are working. No need for anymore for now. I was about 197 or lower when we began them. She said this is not a big thing. She also said your Ana was negative which is what they usually check for lupus. Then said the rest will have to be gone over by my primary doctor.
I'm glad that I had an appointment arranged for tomorrow.
The other doctor's preditction that I had a rare immune deficiency syndrome looks less likely, but I wont know for certain until tomorrow.
I'll update this then.
thanks,
kiera
