Yes, folks can have lupus and MS. Or MS and almost any other autoimmune disorder. Or MS and any other sort of health problem. Having one illness does not preclude you from having another, unfortunately.

I don't know how "common" it is to have both lupus and MS. Sometimes I wonder if doctors and patients are confusing symptoms, and think the patient has two disorders when in fact the symptoms are of just one. But then, I'm not a doctor.

Several folks here have been diagnosed with both. I'm "blessed" in that I only have MS.

Great site Nautical! Thanks! I have a friend who's been on a merry go round dx for a long time, recently diagnosed with lupus then diagnosed with Addison's too.

I was originally diagnosed with fibromyalgia but then learned my GP's essentially didn't fully understand that not everything fit fibro which is why my neuro feels it's too often used as a "garbage bucket" to excuse eveything as nothing they can do for a patient, and now I've been diagnosed with MS.
