Oh, man, Uppity! I hate that when it happens but don't love it that Dell can take you back to a good point? I've got two Dells at home and it's been a lifesaver (got my son one a couple years ago for Christmas and before he and his wife split, she really buggered it up! Dell saved it with a simple "go back"! I know Norton's does it too but Norton's gets so complicated.)
I've learned though to back up all my documents and make an email of all my addresses into a word doc (just add your entire list to an open email, then cut and past all that into a word doc and save as My address book) then put it on a Thumb Drive (Flash Drive) and voila! You've got it all for times like this...
All this crap folks waste their time doing to mess us up on computers is for the birds! Glad you're back up!
I wish I'd had this lesson
before the crash! I did have all my photos backed up (well, most of them...what I didn't, I can easily replace, some of my new dollhouse construction, for example..) And most of the really important documents. But the emails are "toast". And while I did back up a recipe program, I'm not figuring out how to get those files back into the program...but I'm "talking" to them (via email) and hopefully I'll figure that out.
NEXT time I'll have my emails backed up. If I can only figure out how to do that!
