Had firsat infusion yesterday. went well except the pre med benedryl knocked me for a loop. But now this morning I feel my anxiety is up. Anxiety and panic attacks are a major problem with me.

Hey lwkk218,
Good for you!! It's over now you can relax. The first one was the toughest for me because you dont know what to expect and you dont know how your body is going to react. The second one will be better and the third and fourth and so on. Have faith and try and relax. You'll be fine. I try and look forward to the positives that may come.
Have a nice night

Congrats on that! First of everything are nerve-wracking. I started back up on Avonex tonight and had to work through some anxiety of doing my own Avonex injections (used to see the nurse). I did my own Betaseron for 4 years though and it's just a little longer needle. But....because I get anxiety also, earlier today at work I thought maybe I was having a heart attack. Of course I knew I wasn't, but the feeling -ugh. I use clonazepam and find it helps for anxiety/panic attacks, claustrophobia, muscle spasticity and just generally "calms the brain" which is useful for sensory overload. I take only a .5 or 1 mg as needed. Sometimes none in a day, sometimes 2. I've never taken more than 2 mg in a day. It is very helpful for me with the anxiety. I also use counseling and some behavioral techniques (great forms provided by counselor) to write down and sort of 'logic' myself out of the anxiety. I'll find them and see if they have a resource for them. Do you use any therapy or meds for anxiety?
