dirucotide -- in clinical trials

A new medication that involves twice a year iv's is showing some promise.  It is in clinical trials in Europe and Canada, and I believe they are recruiting here in U.S.  It is labeled MBP8289 -- dirucotide.  From what I understand, it is a synthetic that mimics myelin makeup.

Hey did you hear Michelle Obama speak of her dad the other night. He past away in his 50's from complications due to MS. He must have been quite progressive. Maybe this disease holds a place in her heart and if Barack wins, they will get this rollin to find a cure for this monster. She spoke beautiful the other night i thought. I never knew that about her dad.

Thank you indeed for this info. I’ve been gone and then recovering from too much fun, but I finally got a chance to check out these links. It is so great that is shows promise in people with SPMS, and interesting how that promise is specific to people with particular immune response genes.
