clearing throat

I am undiagnosed, but feel that MS is what I have. Just wondering if clearing your throat or a slight cough is something that could be part of MS? I mean it could be that I have post nasal drip, but seems like I have had it for awhile. Had a chest exray was fine, and a ct of my chest both were fine. Just not to sure, I think it is so annoying...thanks beannie

Good to see u again! I'm sorry to hear of u'r troubles, but would suspect that maybe this has more to do with u'r post nasal drip than with a neurological issue like MS. There CAN be issue with u'r throat related to MS, but they are more of the choking sort. Have u talked with maybe a gi doc or looked into anything like GERD? There may be something happening there. Take care friend and let us know how this goes for u.

Beannie, I read your post and couldn't help but notice that I have been having the same concern. I have not been diagnosed with M.S. either, instead I am told I have silent migraine, or vestibular migraine and all the neurological symptoms. But I am not so sure...

And lately, I have been coughing and it feels like I have something 'catching' in my throat when I swallow. And my x-ray came out fine too. Weird. It's very scary to feel a symptom and not know where it's coming from.

I have that catching in my throat feeling plus some choking and now some difficulty projecting my voice sometimes. I do have MS but notice that the sensations are all a lot worse if I have sinus or a cold. I think rhonda's comments are spot on. Try to think positive and perhaps try cutting out the dairy for a bit could help by reducing mucous. All the best.
