Hi all,
I am a pathological optimist but also a realist. My mother had MS and so do I. My mother's MS was mainly in the arms and mine is down the left side of my body with walking the worst. But we both have pain as the major symptom and I have read similar symptoms are common in inherited type MS though whether environmental or genetic I do not know. A few houses away I have a friend whose husband has MS. They have four daughters 3 have auto immune diseases - diabetes, lupus/chronic fatigue and the yougest (26) now experiencing pins & needles and vision problems? I worked with disabled people and one man with MS had a daughter with lupus. I definitely believe that there is a genetic predisposition to all disease and there are many who believe this but it does not mean you will get it.
Good news is that I read that if you take fish oil when you are pregnant the babys nervous system will be strong & they will NOT get MS. I have been taking 3000 ml good quality fish oil for 15 years and it is great to counteract inflammation (& good for a whole lot else skin, PMS, as well). The one time I stopped I developed blurry vision as soon as I resumed it good vision returned?? I also read that taking fish oil daily at any time can help prevent MS but my daughter (now 25) does not belive in it. She is very, very fatigued every day so I am really concerned but can do nothing except pray, thats why being aware and doing all you can when pregnant is the best way to go. Children are the greatest joy but a worry too and independant souls on their own path. Love, light and blessings
