Ears still ringing

Well I have been off Rebif for 12 days and my ears are still ringing.  I thought a couple of days ago it seemed to quiet down a bit.  I noticed breaks in the ringing.  I had also been feeling better all around.  Yesterday it seemed that everything went to heck.  By the afternoon my ears were screaming again and my legs werent worth a darn.  I even had some chills and a bit of vibration.  I had a full body massage yesterday and felt like maybe some of the rebif still in my system was stirred up into circulation.  That can happen with meds.  This morning I feel a bit better but my ears are screaming again.  Has anyone else has this side effect whether meds or MS?  If so did you find a way to get rid of it?  I am thinking maybe oral steriods might help.  I will wait until my neuro appointment on the 12th.  They called and told me my liver enzymes were up too last week and made sure I had stopped the rebif.  I repeat that test on the 5th.  Any input on the ringing other than answer it would be appreciated!  HA!

Hi Chuck,

I am sorry to read that your ears ring all the time too!  I am hoping in my case it's the interferon.  At 1/2 dose they would start to ring about an hour after injection and then stop within a couple of hours.  A couple of weeks into full dose the darned things haven't stopped.  I am having a hearing test and ear exam on friday.  I am wondering about taking oral steroids for this.  Did they ever try that with you?  Did you have a hearing test?  Sorry so many questions.  This is all pretty new still.  I was diagnosed in September.   If I get any resolution or suggestions, I will surely pass it along.
