Needle for meds sticking other people

Hi fellow MSers,

Has anyone who takes injectable meds ever had someone else accidentally stick themselves with your needle? In hospitals, they get safety needles that can't stick anyone else after they're used once. 

What kind of used sharps container system do you use?  What med are you on? 

I am just curious as I start my treatments.  Please let me know!

I have never been stuck with a used needle, thank goodness.  But I do take a daily injection Copaxone and I was told that I can put my used needles in a thick plastic jug, I use an old laundry soap container and the hospital in town said they would take them that way.

Go online and check out the BD safe clip. It cuts the needle off and stores the needle in side itself. Every state has different laws pertaining to bio-hazard/sharps disposal. In California, you MUST dispose of sharps in a specified sharps container and turn it into a sharps receiving station. Or you can cut the needles off using the BD safe clip. Once the needles are off, the remainder of the syringe is ordinary trash. The BD safe clip is considered a sort of mini sharps container and also must be disposed of at a sharps receiving station.

My copaxone script came with a sharps container. I have a sharps cont. left over from my old rebif script. You can pick them up at any hospital/medical supply store.
