Paroxysmal Symptopms???

Anyone experiencing Paroxysmal  symptoms, where they have a sudden onset of symptoms which last a few seconds, no more than a minute or so, and this happenes a few times throughout the day?  I read that this can last up to a couple months and then disappear forever?! Im now at 4 weeks.

 

My symptoms include a limp right arm/hand, with increased breathing and slurred speech. It occurs a few times daily and lasts maybe 15 seconds each time and then goes away.  I had an MRI done last week, which still has not been read to me by a doctor (HE SUCKS). I have an appt with a neurologist next week! THANK GOD!

After doing my own research I do see that I have lesions and an active one (which was bright white).

Anyone else experience symptoms like these?

Yes, I am experiencing a paroxysmal symptom/relapse for the last 4 weeks. ( My initial MS symptoms and diagnosis in 2005/6.). My neuro diagnosed this new symptom as Paroxysmal Kinesigenic Dystonia. According to him PKD is rare in Multiple Sclerosis but it does happen. I have found little info on it and less on treatment for this as it pertains to MS.

My symptom is painful so I am desperate for it to end. I am curious to know how yours progressed. Did it resolve? Did you use a medication to treat it? I have been on Dilantin for the last 2 weeks without much effect.

I've been on Avonex since Jan. 1. I have not had these symptoms since around Feb. 1. The only symptom I continue to have that is MS related is a slight foot drop on my right foot (mainly when I have on flip flops or shoes with little support). I'm very happy that Avonex seeems to be working for me, and did so quickly.

How are you progressing since your post?

WOW, I thought I was one of the only people out here that suddenly freeze up, get really bad vertigo, have trouble talking and thinking, my right arm and leg get really tight. It is like a momentary blackout and I after a few minutes sometimes about an hour I feel better. I also sometimes have to touch my legs or my arms to make sure they are not numb. I feel for you. It completely drives me crazy too.
