I was recently diagnosed with ms. I have had back pain for about a year. In January I decided to go to a dr. to decide what to do. I had a CBC done with no abnormalities in the blood. I had a basic x ray of the back that looked like a mri on my spine was needed. Did the mri and showed ddd and spinal stenosis. She wanted me to start pt to help with pain. Did that for 2 1/2 weeks and wasn't working. Referred me to a pain management dr. She decided to a spinal epidural for pain and be rechecked in 3 weeks. Did that no real help. Went back 3 weeks later and she decided to do a nerve block in my spine. The pain shot that injection was the worst pain I have ever encountered. I was put on gabapentin after the injection. I was taking 300 mg at a time. 1 pill for the first 3 to 5, then 2 for the next 3 to 5 and finally 3 pills a day. Did this for 10 days and my feeling in my body was something is not right. I felt discombobulated so I stopped taking the gabapentin. Over the next few more days my symptoms were getting worse. I had vision but couldn't focus and felt very unsafe driving. I called the pain management dr and she said if not better in a day call my primary. Did that. Next day called my primary she said not better in 24 hours call them and make appt. Waited 48 hours called and went to dr. She did blood work and set up and mri in 3 days of my brain. Blood work came back no problems. Had the mri, next day went to primary and she said I had ms. Set me up with an appt. with a neurologist the next day. She confirmed that diagnoses. I am 50 years old with no previous symptoms of ms. No lose of mobility. I have white lesions yes, but nothing else. This has all happened in 3 weeks. I am on steroid infusion as I type this for 1 more day, then I start prednisone for 18 days. I go in 4 days for another CBC and CMP blood tests. Back to neurologist in 2 1/2 weeks and then decide what ms meds to take. I don't feel like its ms. I think something happened after the nerve block. I have another spinal and brain mri scheduled in 3 1/2 weeks. Right now I feel like I did before the nerve block. I would hate to take meds for a misdiagnoses. If I have ms okay, but 50......no previous symptoms EVER!!! Until nerve block! HELP!!<!-- Edit -->
