The difference between 2005 and 2012 MRI In our language LOL

Can you give me your opinion please I would so appreciate it.

2012 Multiple area of abnormal increased T2 and flair signal present in the strip white matter. There is periventricular predominance and demyelinating disease is suspected. Chronic microischemia changes not totally excluded. There is mild atrophy of the corpus callosum. No lesions are identified in the posterior fossa.
Diffusion weighted sequences appear normal. The ventricles are normal size. No mass or midline shift. The cp angles are clear, the craniocervical junction appears unremarkable.

IMPRESSION: Nonspecific white matter signal abnormalties in the cebral hemispheres. Demyelinating disease is favored over chronic microischemia changes.

2005:Flair and T2-weighted images show several small foci of hyperintensity in the cebral white matter. These are most prominent in the peri-atrial areas. This is not a specific appearance in a patient this age, ddelineating or chronic ischemic change might be considered.

IMPRESSION: Multiple areas of T2 hyperintensity in the cerebral white matter as described.

Thank you for your input. I was wondering if the 2012 is worse?

Basically in 2005 they diagnosed ms and I went into denial.

Now I'm having a lot of symptoms, chronic neck pain, my feet feel like they're on fire and if you touch the top of my toes ouch, leg aches. The heat bothers me, I thought I was having hot flashes nope...I've had a ms hug. Incontinence, bowel problems and spasms...

It doesnt surprise me that you've been given an MS diagnosis. The atrophy noted in your most recent diagnosis would indicate a worsening. Are you on an MS treatment? Progression still occurs on meds but the hope is the med will slow that progression.

My situation is pretty straight forward. I was diagnosed fairly quickly and I started on copaxone soon after. I have experienced progression but I am very blessed to have no major issues. I still work full time as a 5th grade teacher. I have mild vision issues, poor balance, chronic vertigo, numbness in both feet, some problems with foot drop and spasticity in my left foot and leg.

Denial is a great place! I've been there often!

Atrophy doesn't mean dead; it means apparent shrinkage. It means that part of your brain is smaller than typical. Atrophy is common in MS. It occurs when there is wide spread demyelination on a cellular level. The brain mass is being reduced. It is the goal of current treatments to reduce brain atrophy as well as brain lesions.
