Please help MS? Lyme? Something else?

April 9th started having palpitations, I was nervious about being accepted to nursing school. I also had them for a week or two back in 2009 during my divorce. I figured it was stress.

May 7th I got a hep-b vaccine and tetanus shot because I was accepted and it's a requirement.

May13th awoke with the feeling of a band around my chest and tightness in the center which moved under my left breast. My arms felt weird somewhat numb and tingly. I was also feeling very overheated but not sweaty. I got up and delayered as I'm always cold and sleep in a robe and sweats. But then I got chills. I might have had a fever but I don't know cause I didnt check. My pains subsided after a little while and I went back to sleep.

Over the next few days the arms from my shoulders to my fingers would start going numb on and off. Then they would also start to ache. My neck was stiff upon waking, as was my upper back. Sometimes my hands felt swollen and my knuckles hurt to bend them. It usually subsided with movement. I developed tender spots that if I pushed them or moved a certain way they felt like a bruse. The first ones that are still there are in the muscle behind my arm pits. I was taking an online class and work at a computer all day so I thougt I getting carpel tunnel. I would wake up feeling ok in the mornings but as the day went on my arms hurt especially my shoulders. Then the pains and tingling would change every day. One day my triceps would burn and ache all day long another day my left arm would go numb even my shoulder blade my fingers sometimes all sometimes just the pinky and ring. I would get bee stings shooting pains electric shocks and burning sensations and warm flash over isolated areas. One night I wake up and my thumb was very numb. I shook it and it burned. Them it went away with more shaking.

Then one night I had pain in my throat, but not a soar scratch kind it just pulsed with pain and my ears felt like I was on an airplane as it was going up my toung was numb and my ears and face. This only lasted for a little while maybe half hour.

I was able to get ammoxicillin 500 3x day because of my ear pressure and soar throat. I went back because I thought it was helping and was able to get remaining 30 days to treat Lyme.

After 4 weeks I awoke with numness in my feet to my knees withs stiffness in my shins. This remained the entire day and didn't go away until the following day. I wold get nerve pains shooting in my legs. I started to get body muscle twitching. Eyelids to toes random. Even got hiccups a lot after eating. Started getting ringing in my ears I've Had it once in a blue moon over my lifetime but now almost daily.

The night of july 3rd I had my first migrane in my life. My entire head face eyes teeth neck everything was pounding. I once again had the throat pain and some ear pressure although the ears wernt the same as first time.

I have noticed about a month into this I have a shake in my rotates cuff when I bring my arms into my body from an out stretched position. I also noticed going up one flight of stairs Gave me a lactic acid burn in my legs. I was working out 5 days a week before my shots and never had that problem. I seem to have more tolerance for the stairs just recently. I also remember being do tired I would almost fall asleep at the wheel while driving to work but I'm not sue if this was before or after my shots.


I tested negative for lyme. Cervical MRI tiny bulging disk on c-5 with minor spurs. Neuro said I had slight arthritis there but at my age we all do. I'm 42 next weekend. Brain MRI normal. Both done without contrast. EMG normal. Blood work I've had about 27 viles drawn all test are normal. Although my doctors said nothing my vitimin D was 31 and under 30 is considered deficient. And I've asked for Lyme 3 times. I don't have the third one back yet I'll get it next week but I was on ammoxicillin while durring 2 of my blood draws. Since I stopped the antibiotics last Sunday I started to notice more numbness coming into my arms and legs a little more but my last major thing was the migrane and minor aching and numbness in my arms and lower legs.


I also have some soar muscles that I didn't earn by working out and one that's been with me since I got sick.


Neuro wants me to wait a month and then have MRI with contrast if I'm still symptomatic.

I think Lyme because I live in CT and I woked in the yard and went in the woods and didnt check for ticks. After symptoms started I did more yard work and pulled 3 ticks off me on different occasions. They were the tiny deer ticks. Never saw a rash.


Please tell me what you think if my symptoms match any of yours that have been diagnosed. I'm afraid my arms shake will get worse and affect my ability to use my arms.

I can totally sympathize with you jewels2970! I have been looking for answers to a variety of symptoms myself for over a year now, and so far, no diagnosis. I've got a plethora of symptoms, many of which are the same as yours. WWJD20 is correct...Lyme disease testing, at least the standard tests done by most doctors, is very inaccurate. Working with a Lyme Disease specialist is your best bet if you're thinking you've got Lyme. And being that you've had ticks on you, it's definitely worth checking in to...most people don't get the typical "bulls eye" rash they say is indicative of Lyme Disease. My cousin had the tick bite, saved the tick to get it tested, AND he got the bull's eye rash...traditional tests showed he didn't have Lyme. But when he found a specialist who did more accurate testing, it was confirmed.
