Hello,

I was wondering with the optic neuritis, does this cause eye redness and burning? Or just vision loss?

Burning can be a symptom. I'm not sure about redness. For me I have eye pain like someone was pushing on my closed eye lid; like pressure. It hurt to move it too. And then of course I had vision issues. First I lost the color vision. It was all very sepia-like. It was like an Andrew Wyeth painting. Then it got worse and it was like looking through wax paper.

It took massive amounts of steroids and 4 months to get my vision back.

My left eye has pressure behind it right now, that has been going on for about two days now. By the end of the day yesterday if i tried looking around my eyes would start watering because my left eye hurt so badly.

I had pain and pressure. The eye movement pain you describe sounds bad. That is similar to what I have experienced. I think you should see an opthalmologist. Let me know how you are doing.

I was just diagnosed with optic neuritis last week. I have eye pain, redness, pressure, dryness, crazy vision problems.. you name it… My eyes even make noise when I move them sometimes. They put me on 3 days of IV steroids which seemed to help some with the vision but not with the pain. To make things even more interesting I am already legally blind in my other eye since birth so it’s been a blast…

I’m sorry you are going thought this. It’s really tough especially with all the other symptoms… I wish I had some advice for you but I am still struggling myself. Good luck and hang in there.
