Is MS hereditary?

I am not DX with MS; however, I will tell you that a lady I used to work with has MS, and she has 3 daughters... it has been recently found out that TWO of her daughters now have MS also. They are quite young too, in their late teens.

I asked about it a bit too in my last thread-- whether MS runs in anyone's families here? MS has never been in my family from what I know. But I have severe neurological symptoms, many of which are very odd, all of which 'resemble' MS.

People in the same family are subject to the same diseases. WHY? They eat the same kind of food. Taught to handle stress the same way. Taught to exercise or not exercise. Have similar sleeping habits. Disease is caused by the environment we live in. There a study done in El Paso about a cluster of children that developed MS who live close to a smelter. When we breath bad air, drink bad water or eat bad food we get disease. If we have proper eating, proper exercise, proper sleep, and prayer and meditation to handle the stress in our lives we can avoid disease.

You are correct. It is very sad that some children have defects at birth. These defects may never be cured by eating a healthy diet. That doesn't mean these children should not be concerned about the diet they choose. I am sure you agree that breathing bad air, drinking bad water and eating bad food is not a good thing. We help our bodies when we eat the foods with the vitamins and minerals that our bodies need. That should be the whole purpose of eating. To give our bodies what they need to keep us healthy. I am not suggesting that any one diet is appropriate for everyone. We are all different and each of us must find our what works for us but the fact remains. Our bodies need vitamins and minerals to stay healthy. Some people do find it helpful when they find the correct diet.
