Has anyone had first symptoms as transverse myelitis or saddle anaesthesia?

I'm sorry. I am not familiar with either of those.

My first symptom was vertigo. I woke up with it one day. It became worse over a period of 3 weeks. Eventually I was hospitalized because I could no longer walk without balance support.

I was diagnosed about 5 weeks later.

I've never heard of them either.

My relapses cause me to pass out. For years the docs thought it was just an allergic reaction to bug bites. I even carried an epi pen for almost 10 years. Then someone that saw me pass out said it looked like I was having a seizure...which brought on the brain MRI...the MS diagnosis came quickly after that.

MRIs seem to be critical to diagnosing MS. Have you had one? Do you have lesions on your brain or spine?

Yes I have had several MRI's showing lesions on the spine.  My symtoms started with numbness from my waist down ten years ago and it has progressed to extreme stiffness with no remission.

What is your doctor saying about the lesions? Do you have any sort of diagnosis?

No diagnosis yet but have been going to MS clinic for 10 years.

Oh gosh!!!! That's an extraordinary amount of time! I'm very sorry! You must be very frustrated!!!
