Hi, everyone. I usually post on the chronic pain forum but I read this particular forum a lot and you all are SO helpful.
I first sought treatment for chronic and debilitating abdominal pain in January of this year. My GYN said I had uterine issues so I had a hysterectomy. This provided no relief and he was clearly wrong in his diagnosis and my ignorance about
getting good care for myself lead me to just follow what he said blindly.
ETA: I just got a call from my GP saying that I have really low vitamin D and he wants me to take a prescript
ion strength supplement ... I know that MS and Vit D are connected somehow but not sure entirely how.
Fast forward ten months, and I'm still searching for answers, but recently have experienced the following:
Constant tingling/pins and needles in my hands and feet
Feeling like the world is slightly 'tilted' a little to the right
Sudden muscle contractions that last a few hours and feel like my muscles are being squeezed together
A couple episodes of feeling a really severe tightness in my chest, like someone was sitting on my chest
Having trouble with short-term memory and word recall
Rapid, extreme mood swings ( this is the worst; last night I had to walk away from my kids and hide for a while because I was yelling at them for no reason and I couldn't stop myself)
Urinary hesitancy (I've had this since I was about
19-20, and it seems to be really bad for about
3-4 months, then it gets better, then worse again, etc.)
Yesterday I felt like I was about
to pee my pants. I felt this like sudden "drop" in my bladder like something pushed on the top of it and then went down, trying to push the urine out. Thankfully I was able to contain it because I was standing in front of a whole room of people giving a presentation
I talked to my psychiatrist today and told her about
all of this. She reviewed all my meds and said it is very possible this could all be medicine related. I take Effexor, Lamotrigine, Xanax, Tramadol 100 extended release and Opana IR .5 mg up to 4x per day (for pain and depression).
I was hoping to hear about
some of your experiences. I know all those symptoms can be caused by a number of nervous system conditions.
What do you all think? I appreciate your help in advance, and gentle hugs to you all.
