Any tips on Copaxone?

Well my experience with Rebif was short. One injection and

allergenic reaction.....now I start on Copaxone. Any tips?

Does everyday mean 7 days a week or do you get the weekend off?

Autoinjector or manual? Setting 4,6,8?

Not suppose to massage like rebif I understand, what helps the reddness

or the welt OR do you not get them with copaxone?

Any advice will be helpful

Hi Dogday,

I've been wondering how your rebif was going!  I'm sorry you had a reaction, was it bad?  All I know about copaxone is that is 7 days a week, no days off.  It does have an injector like the rebif, and it's up to you if you want to use it.

Have I mentioned that I have a twin named Michelle?

Anyway, the reaction wasn't to bad. I got a bad rash
and hives...with some slight difficulty in breathing. It
was good I was just starting on the 8mcg dose.

My neuro and the rebif folks stopped it immeadiately. So
things didn't get out hand. It could have been worse. :-)

Wow so sorry you had such a bad reaction with the Rebif. Copaxone is every single day, but that makes it easy to remember :-) You can use the autoinjector or do it manually, it's entirely up to you. The autoinjector is really nice, and if you have any questions Shared Solutions is great. Our first one malfunctioned and we just called them up and they sent a new one free of charge. In the meantime though, we had to inject manually and it turns out he prefers that method, says it doesn't hurt as much.

Just rotate the inject sites every day, theres eight of them. You might get a lump and stinging sensation as the med goes in, but it doesn't last long. He's been on it for six years now. There has been a few occassions where he has gotten chest pain and shortness of breath right after injection but that was gone in like 15 minutes. No major problems or side effects though. I hope it goes as well for you! Good luck and let us know how it goes for you.

Your sister must be a great person!!   I sure hope all goes well with the Copaxone.  Did your reaction happen while the nurse was there?  It must have been scary.  So sorry! sad
