Hey -- new here -- wondering what you experienced folks think?
Had mri with "spots" on left side of brain -- I had been experiencing a droopy right eye, which seems worse when I'm tired. Did not notice any specific event to cause this, but notice it in reviewing photos from the past 6-8 months. Have been very tired -- work part-time and need to fall asleep for an hour or so each afternoon. Having trouble sleeping at nite tho -- even if I do not nap I wake up every hour or so. Having trouble swallowing, and now that I have been to neuro I see and feel that my right hand is not so strong and my right foot drops a bit when I walk. Having some eyesight trouble -- like a dead spot in my right eye. Also had my thyroid irradiated 3 years ago, so maybe eye problem is from that...also had my gallbladder out along with a bad bout with h.pylori -- so maybe swallowing/stomach problems are related to that??????? Had high bp and enlarged heart 10 yrs ago so neuro is jumping on the bandwagon saying stroke is the diagnosis, but I'm not so sure. Too many overlapping problems, and I'm only 56!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELP?
These are some thoughts, not necessarily in any order of importance:
56 is rather late to be experiencing early symptoms of MS, and to be diagnosed with it. Generally one has had problems for years, that have come together for such a diagnosis.
But 56 certainly is not too early to be experiencing a stroke! In fact, strokes can happen to anyone, almost any age. And with already having vascular problems -- high blood pressure, enlarged heart, coupled with thyroid problems (which indeed can cause your fatigue)...
If I were a doctor, MS would be low on my list of things to look for. High on my list would indeed be stroke, vascular problems, problems related to the thyroid issue.
Lots of people at much younger ages have overlapping problems. 56 isn't real old...but certainly older than lots of folks here dealing with multiple issues, including MS. I'm nearly 60, have had MS for 24 years, now, and lots of side issues related to it, including intestinal problems, for example.
