avonex interferon users....question?

I usually take my shot every Thursday, I get really sick from my shot and it takes until late afternoon Friday to recover. This Friday my hubby has to get a procedure done so he will need me. Can I switch my shot to Wednesday night and then take it again next week Thursday? or does it have to be a week a part no matter what??

I'm on Betaseron, not Avonex...but I think this is true of any of them -- skipping a day or doing it a day early won't make THAT much difference, particularly where you intend to not miss more than 24 hours. Just do the shot on Wednesday, then back on your usual Thursday schedule next week, and you should be fine.

thank you so much... I thought so but was not sure..... it will be weird to be sick on a thursday... LOL!

I have been on Avonex for about a yr and a half.  I have definitely been able (per the doc) to change the day by one day in either direction to accomodate my schedule.  Also...it gets better so don't feel like you will always be really sick!  Good luck...
