Well, isn't that interesting!

I requested my records from the MS specialist's office that I've been seeing. The girl at the front desk copied off the entire chart and gave it to me.

I was reading through it last night, and on my referral form sent from my PCP to this doctor in October, the diagnosis reads "multiple sclerosis". Not "rule out multiple sclerosis" or "possible multiple sclerosis", but "multiple sclerosis".
I think that's rather odd, especially since my PCP claimed not to have a clue as to what is wrong with me. Evidentially he had more of a clue than what he was letting on. Now I'm wondering if this means I have actually been diagnosed with MS or if it was just a formality on the referral. Another one of those things that make you go, "Hmmmm".

I think a call to the doctor is in order. Sure sounds to me like you're no longer in limbo, though.

WOW!  It makes me so mad when doctors play god and think they can pick and chose what to tell you!  In New Zealand it's highly illegal for Dr's to keep information from you....is that the case where you are?

But besides all that .... how are you feeling about it?  Are you feeling relieved to be out of "limboland"???  I know it sounds dumb but I would love to read that on my file....I certainly don't want MS, but I don't want to have "imaginitis" either!

Shashi, when I went to see my PCP last spring, after complaining to him of my facial tingling for 5 years, he finally sent me to have a brain MRI done, on the slip that I had to take with me to the hospital the day of the MRI, it had under diagnosis, MS.  The technician asked if I had MS and I told him that I don't know why he has this like this, but No.  This was the first test that I ever had done for my current problems.  I then told him that my gram had MS and also that migraines are on the maternal side of my family.  Well, I think I would still call and ask.  Good luck!!!
