I've been trawling the internet and found a lot of stuff about supportive ostomy belts.. do any of you use them, and which is the best make? They look like saving me a lot of hassle, but if I buy one (at around $40) I don't want it to be rubbish! :P

I don't know if they really help. I've used a belt as well as gone without. Couldn't you order one through your ostomy supplier and have insurance pay for it? They seems so steep for some elastic, y'know?

I would not be without a belt. I feel more secure about accidents and more comfortable. Don't get a bag for your bag. Get a well made colostomy belt. Expensiive? Yes but worth it

Where can a person get a well made stomsa belt? I have looked all over the Internet. I would like to find one that gives you good suport.

I really new at this, but I have heard that a good belt can help you from getting a hhernia.

Jan, there are belts to help keep your bag secure and there are hernia belts for ostomates (two different things). Nu-Hope make a good hernia belt and I've often seen people recommend them.
