I know this sounds like a minor thing, but I'm so excited that I finally found a bikini I can wear! Maybe it's because I live in Florida and we wear bathing suits almost year-round, but I thought my bikini wearing days were over when I got my ileostomy 2 years ago.
What I found is a two-piece suit that has a bikini top with a skirt bottom that actually covers my bag. I felt so "normal" when I was in the dressing room today wearing a bikini. It really lifted my spirits, and I couldn't wait to tell all of the ladies on here that you too can be a bikini wearing goddess this summer!!

Woohoo Cece that's awesome! Is your stoma low? Mine is high, so I'm trying to figure out this bikini business. I better get to it, only a few more months until the beach will be calling!
What a high that must have been to see yourself in a bikini, in a dressing room, with no bag showing. I'm excited for you!

r u serious?! i got totally pissed b/c i've been wearing bikinis since my mother said i was old enough :O). But the other day i went to target and got mad b/c i realized that i wont b able to wear one this summer. I've actually given up on wearing a swim suit at all.
So is it a real bikini or like one of those tankinis? i even feel weird about
those b/c i feel like they'll lift up and show everything. I'm so happy u found something that works for u!
p.s.
i used to be a bikini top and shorts kinda girl. i always thought my bottom half was pretty unflattering ( consider the irony lol). I dont know what i am now.

Thanks, ladies! My stoma is to the right of my belly button and down about an inch, so it's not really low. That's why I thought I'd never find a bikini bottom that would cover it, but they're out there. It's a real bikini top and a skirt bottom, so my stomach shows. Happy shopping!

I used to have a tankini, well I have to shop again this year for a larger size tho, but we don't have swimsuits out in the stores yet... we still have snow and ice here. Where did you find yours?

I found it at a boating store called West Marine. They have a lot of them down here, since boating is so popular. What was even better was that it was on the sale rack! I saw it a couple of months ago, but didn't want to pay full price, and today, I got it for 75% off!! That made me doubly excited!!

I've never worn a bikini - not because of my bag but because some bodies should just never ever be seen in a bikini, and mine's one of them lol

YAY! I actually just bought one last week! We're headed to Arizona for Spring TRaining baseball on Saturday, and I was soooooo scared to tryand find a suit with this bag. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I found a bikini bottom with a very short, straight skirt. It manages to hide the bag, yet not look like a little ol lady suit!! LOL, plus it comes up high enough to hide the stoma, but it isn't tooo high either. Once I found that, I was free to find any top I wanted, just like regular.

Speedos don't look good on any guy, despite their physique - stick with the boardies (board shorts) - they look heaps better :p

when my husband was younger, like in high school and college, he was a swimmer, almost went to the olympics, but then, he looked good in a speedo, but not anymore, lol. too much McDonalds!
