Praying...Hi! thanks for asking! It has been a week and a half now since my reversal. I came home on the fifth day after surgery. The first three days, I didn't have so much as an ice chip because I had nausea and hiccups every time I sat up. I was up walking around on the second day, and had some small bms. After a day of liquids and then soft foods, I was back to a regular diet. It took 7 days for the first real bms. I was pretty nervous about
going again. The first five days I have gone 5 to 6 times a day and now just twice. Things are getting back to normal. I am having gas pains when I eat, hurting up into my diaphram. The doctor says it is just because the colon forgot how to work smoothly and it will take time to settle down. The staples came out of my inscision a few days ago. The doctor had put some strips in the cut to "wick away" bacteria from the site. Those came out the day I came home and they must have done the trick because there is no sign of infection.yippee! I am planning to go back to work in a few weeks if all continues to go well.I don't know what I would have done without this site to give me support all winter. What a Godsend! I hope that you are continuing to do well. As bad as things got this winter, I read some great books, watched movies, bonded with my pups and learned to appreciate the power of prayer.

Hello Donut,
I just had an illeostomy reversal one week ago and came home two days ago. I am experiencing continual nausea and off and on cramping. Having diarrhea about
3 or 4 times a day. Can barely eat. Just wondering if you could offer any more info on what to expect and if this is normal. Thanks.
