Hi peggy113, thanks, and i 'm a long time lurker!
I had a proctocolectomy with ileo last feb, i have CD, have done for the last 14 years or so.
I had a temp leo about
9 years ago for a year then got it reversed, everything was fine up until 3ish years ago, i started to get really ill again, and it went from bad to worse, i was going to the toilet about
20 times a dsy, and if i ate anything, like meat or veg, it would stuff me up, this was later confirmed to be a stricture at the reconnection site.
My surgeon told me he could perform surgery, but it would probably need doing again in a couple of years, by this point, i hadn't really left the house much and i decided that i wanted a permanent ileo, he said i was making the right decision, so he refered me on, from this point on it took a year to get the surgeons to agree to do the op, first they wanted to manage me by drugs, i said no, then they wanted to give me an temp ileo again because if a cure is found in ten years i could have it reversed, i said in ten years i will be 46, i don't want to be going through surgery then, i want a permanent one, i need to get my life back and i want it back now, so they agreed.
I have my life back, and i ;ove it, don't get me wrong, i still have moments of "oh god, i have this for the rest of my life" but then i remember, i had no life before..
Anyways, that enough of my rambling,
