Hi all, it's been awhile. Got date for reversal!!!

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on in a while, i hope you are all doing good, and keeping well.

I am having my reversal on Friday 13th June!!! eyes   just my luck!!! They will be doing the reversal first then repairing my hernia at same time.

I just hope all goes well, my consultant wants to leave me for up to six months after the op to see how things go, if i am still incontinant she wants to try out a procedure which involves a pacemaker kind of device, it will go in under my skin at the bottom of my back, and it works my anal muscles until they are able to do the job on their own!

It's good to hear from you. My date for the reversal is May 28! The surgeon also told me that I may have some hernia issues that will need to be addressed. It seems like we're on the same track.

I'm going to my internist this afternoon to do some pre-op testing, but, so far everything has been going well.

I've had my ileo since Aug. 05 and I see you have had yours since Feb. 05. Plus I also take Fluoxetine!

We need to stay in touch since are situations are so similar.

Me too! I am having my reversal on the 30th. I can't wait. I am so sick of this bag! I have not had an easy time of it. Still, I am worried about going back to the way things were.

Hi to both of you!

WOW Richard I never realised we were so similar in our situations! lol. I had my pre op testing done last week and fainted! They had bother getting blood from me, my veins are terrible!
I wish you luck in your op and hope to hear all about how it goes! x x

David, it's great to hear from you, this is great news on your reversal! It doesn't seem that long since you got your bag, but you obviously be glad to be rid!!! I wish you luck too, and will hear how it went. Tell Barbara I said Hi x x

Richard, Gillian and David ---- CONGRATS to all of you. Gosh, how things change when I am absent!!! I bet you all are very excited and can't wait for the big day?! Just don't forget all of us here on the forum and stay in touch. Be sure to keep us updated on your surgeries. I may not be around much... have my plate kinda full right now. Kind of been under the weather the last few days and have been visiting the forum. It's nice to hear some good news from ya all!

Thanks for the good wishes, There is no way that I could ever forget my ostomates!

I wasn't sure I was going to get the ok for the reversal surgery, but, the tests came back indicating that it was possible so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Without the support and encouragement from my ostomates I would have rushed into this surgery long before I was ready and I would have endangered my life. I learned here that I could have a good, active and full life even if I have the ileo "for keeps". This gave me the time to attempt this when I felt ready.

Of course I will let you know of my progress as I hope all of you will continue to keep posting on your trials and tribulations.

Hello, I just found this site. and I am so excited. I have my reversal surgery for june 26th, I have had since Feb of 2007, 5 surgeries, becasue of an awful surgeon, and now after 13 months,  with the bag!!!i am having a reversal and a large hernia taken care of.. what do I have to look forward to when the reversal is done? It is always that you have many frequent BM'S?  I almost die last year after operation number 3, it has been a long road. If anyone can tell me what I am in store for???  WHat do I eat and not eat? Has anyone lost large amounts of weight because of this problem?? THanks Nannie5

If any one can give me some advice of what to expect after the reveral due to diviticulitis ... what to  do with the BM's what foods are a yes and what are a no?
