small bowel obstruction and hernia repair

Hi anyone out there, I am in desperate need to contact someone who may have had a hernia repair and mine had complications with having small bowel obstructions but besides that,  I had my surgery in the end of march and pulled all of my muscles around the navel and stitch area along both sides of my colectomy stitching and have been on pain meds and still have pain. Can anyone comment on this hopefully, please I don't want to be the only one with this situation.  Sunday I was willing to go to the er because it was so bad. My doctor was informed today by me since I spoke the the oncall dr. about this and he knew of my situation and I said I had enough meds and he said the pain will continue for another month. My dr. said it has been long enough and did not want to give me more pills understandably and I am going for blood work in the morning and will see him in the afternoon. Has anyone experienced this long period of muscle pulling pain around the stitch area? Thanks, Denise

I just had a hernia repair done, but I didn't have a SB blockage, so I don't know if I can offer you any advice.

Hi Irish mom, thanks for responding to my situation. Did you have a long recovery time for your healing from the pain of the hernia repair? I just got back from my doc and he said it is still pulled muscles and that is why I am still hurting. Thanks, Denise

I had it done on April 29 and went back to work this Tuesday. I would have gone back to work after two weeks, but I ended up with a large seroma and was having to have it drained every few days. As far as the pain goes, I was feeling pretty good after two weeks.
