Youre very welcome! This video really helped me and my fiancee a lot get a picture of what I was going to look like. :) It also really helped me realize that I would not look that bad (I think that lady looks great in the video...!)
2 Things I also wish I was told before the surgery (if you are having ileostomy surgery):
1. Right after surgery, your output from the stoma will be dark green, completely liquid and smell awful. This is normal. As you begin to eat, output will thicken up, not be green all the time and smell waaaay less!
2. After surgery, you will have Lots of gas many times each day. This is embarrassing--it basically sounds like you are passing gas the "normal" way, but since it is out of your stoma you have no control about when it comes out, and it can be much louder than you would think...! I was so scared that this would continue forever (and I am a teacher, for crying out loud, can you imagine "sounding off" in front of a bunch of kids...? :( ) BUT after about 2 months, I do not have any more gas (yayyyyy!)--so don't worry, it will go away!
