has anyone been to a chiropractor after getting an ostomy? my neck/back has been killing me and i've started getting headaches again from it. i'm a little worried that the twisting might loosen my bag and cause it to leak. i've already been having issues with it since it doesnt stick all the way due to the gauze over my incision. so many people in the medical field dont even know what an ostomy is i'm afraid most chiropractors wouldnt have a clue how to manuever around it. any advice?

I have in the past and haven't had any problems. I just explain clearly what it is, if they do not know. I recently have been having massages and we just avoid the stomach area. One thing I do when I apply my wafer is stand up real straight, and make sure there are no wrinkles in the area of the skin where the wafer is applied. Does that make sense?

I go to a chiropractor, too, and have never had any problems.

Ask your chiro to lower the drop on the table that they use for pregnant women. It made me more comfortable, and I was still able to have my adjustments lying face down.
