Devrom Tablets for odor control

My Endocrinologist wrote me a prescription for Lavazza which are fish oil pills for extremely high triglycerides (cholecsteral).  I'm taking four each day.  These are high dose pills.  So, as you probably already know, I'm now smelling like a huge fish (at least to me).  The smell is so bad around my bag.  I'm looking into these chewable pills called:

Devrom Tablets are chewable tablets used for odor control from flatulence or stool. Each Devrom tablet contains 200mg bi****h subgallate. Devrom Tablets are for oral use only.

Has anyone used these?

Yes, but it's been a long time ago. Check into Charcoal (?) tablets at maybe a health food store. When I was hooked on fresh garlic, I smelled like one big garlic!! Liquid deodorants helped but it seemed like I needed to change the odor before it hit my pouch. That was when I tried Devrom.

Hi Peggy!

I was just up at the Cleveland Clinic.  I spoke to my ET Nurse.  She said that Devrom would not really benefit me because it mainly works in the large intestines.  She said they can also cause liver damage.  Did you have any side effects from taking charcoal tablets?  Are they really safe for long term use?  Do you know anything about Beano helping with fish odor?  You wouldn't believe how bad the smell is to me.

By the way, are you the one who said Dr. Victor Fazio has cancer?  I asked about him when I was up there.  He's still working and is doing well.

I never took anything orally for any long period, like the Devrom. I never had a lot of success with it. So, I wouldn't be the best to ask about side effects. Did you check online or at any of the natural food sites? I would do that to be sure that you want to take it. Beano does help the Bean Gas... I don't know about fish odor. I'm not much help, am I? And Yes, I do know how bad the smell of fish is.... I think that is one of the reasons why I don't eat it more often. Just about any seafood does that to me.

Oh, thanks, for checking on Dr. Fazio. I'm glad he is still working and doing well. Does that mean that he did/does have cancer and is just working through it?
