How did your surgery prep work?

I mis-read it, thinking it was like a colonoscopy prep. It REALLY is, but I start it at 6am TOMORROW!

here's the prep:
6am - 4 laxatives
8am - Miralax/gatorade mix
10am - Miralax/gatorade mix (finish by noon)

Clear fluids remainder of day includings:
strained fruit juices without pulp (apple, white grape, lemonade)
water
clear broth (chicken, beef) or bouillon
black coffee or tea (without milk or non-dairy creamer)
gatorade or kool-aid (no red or purple)
any flavor soft drinks (coke/diet coke/pepsi/diet pepsi/sprite/mt dew, etc)
plain jellow (no red or purple or with added fruits, toppings, etc)
ice popsicles (no red or purple - not ice cream filled)


NOW, if I did a colonoscopy, all the above things I *could* have until midnight are the same, but my prep is:
3 PM - 4 laxatives
6 PM - miralax/gatorade mix
8 PM - miralax/gatorade mix

nothing after midnight.


Does this sound right to you all? I should of called! I had read through it, and *thought* I saw the 3,6,8 schedules, so when I realized I would prep IN THE MORNING, I've kind of freaked out a little. I'm worried that if I drink regular coke the rest of the day to make me feel kind of full that I'm goign to mess something up.

Any advice?

my prep was JUST like a scope prep. I took those awful tablets, cant remember what they are called. I started them at like noon the day before the surgery, but no actual food that day. Then when i got to the hostpial, horror of horrors i still had to have an enema! that was like my worst fear. Thank God i will never ever have to do that again!
I think your prep sounds fine, but i suppose you can call first thing in teh AM and find out.
good luck with that stuff tomorrw, the best way to get it down is, i only have to do this X more times in my entire life, lol.

Yup, should never had to do it AGAIN..which is great considering I'm 26 and I'd have to start getting scoped regularly in the next 10 years or so!

The tablets, believe it or not, have NEVER made me miserable. It's the darn MIRALAX that gets me rolling. Now, granted, I've always been an *odd* case. So, maybe that's another part of my story.

I don't have to do an enema...well, I don't think!!!! Unless they haven't TOLD me about this yet!!! Oh dear god.. if they do that, they are GIVING ME PAIN MEDICINE FIRST!!!!

well they didnt tell me about the enema either! im not trying to scare you, i promise, just preparing you!

I wonder why some doctors don't do a prep... Thankfully, I didn't have to do any of that. But--- that is the last time you will have to do a colon prep....
