So I'm in the hospital waiting to have a bm so I can eat. Does anyone have any tips??? I have been walking, sucking on hard candy and drinking lots! What else can I do??? I want to eat so bad!!!!!!!

Walk some MORE...and try chewing gum, that might help:)

I had a bm but i'm full of gas...the gum was a bad idea...
still on full liquids...blah!

The gas is painful. It will pass. You have to wait it out. This may work, a nurse suggested I massage my abdomen, beginning on the lower right hand side, where your appendix would be, push down gently, go up on the right hand side, then when you in line with your navel, still gently pushing down, go over to your left hand side, then go down to the opposite side. She said this sometimes moves the gas along, because you are helping it along, by following the large intestinal tract.
Walking helps though, lots and lots of walking.

Try Chewable Gas-X and laying in bed on your left side.
