weird pain (in my butt....) no pun intended!

Ok, I have had my ileostomy for many years now (since '93), also have had several abscesses in the butt region...fun, but this is a new one for me...I hope someone has an idea or suggestion about what might be happening.

I am having ridiculous pain sort of as if my body is trying to go to the bathroom really hard (sort of like phantom pain), and the belly in the lower left area is radiating pain....it feels so strange. I have had some bad blockages in the past and this doesn't feel like that at all. The pain woke me up and I can't get comfortable. Any ideas?

well.....still have the weird pain, I would be psyched if it were just gas, but I am starting to think I have another abscess. I hope I am wrong. Has anyone had multiple abscesses? This would be my third. I was supposed to have a muscle graft last summer to prevent any more but ended up just having that abscess removed and was stuck home waiting for a visiting nurse to repack the wound all summer, I hope I don't have to go through that again.

I would get it checked out...especially since it sounds like its in the same location as the last abscess.

I've had abscess issues and actually found out that the ones I've had drained are still there. I had to had an ultrasound last year and they showed up. They are smaller and not causing any pain or issues so I'm not doing anything about them. My dr said sometimes our insides scar too...
