.... I will tell you that having my colon removed was the very best for me, mine was not working at all, and I have felt better since the day it was removed and I know that I will have my life back now.....
Best of luck to you sweetie, the waiting for things to happen is the worse so I hope that it happens in rapid time for you.....
I have had a total colectomy so if you want to ask me anything please feel free nothing is off limits.

Hi Leslie,
Me again.
I am re-doing the Sitz marker test. My GI understands that I need confirmation, and that this is for MY peace of mind. Monday will be the last Xray. And it will probably show the same as last week's test, but then I will know for sure what the next step is.
I will meet with GI tomorrow, and later tomorrow will meet with my surgeon. ((I am VERY nervous!!!!!)) I can't remember who it was here that had 8 FEET of colon removed via lap, but I think I want HER doctor!!!
I do know that my surgeon has done this surgery, and I was happy with him when he did my Nissen surgery (for intractable GERD).
Questions for anyone out there:
I've had 2 previous lap surgeries---the Nissen, and I had my gallbladder removed both via lap procedure. Would those surgeries have an impact on whether we can do THIS surgery via lap? Or is it going to be 'we'll know when we get in there'?
I think I have a good picture of the recovery, but haven't heard a lot about
eating/nutrition immediately after surgery, during recovery (which I know will take weeks or months), and for long term. Is weight loss a common effect?
When you got your Sitz test results, or whatever test determined that you needed the TC, how soon were you able to arrange the surgery? What did you need to do to prepare for it? (Medically, emotionally, and any practical matters like supplies, etc.?)
Thanks, we're getting closer. And you sure have it right, Leslie, that the waiting is the hardest!
