Abcess?

If it's on the small side...it's a course of antibiotics. If it is too big for that, they can drain it(JP drain), which isn't too bad. I've had both and was no worse for wear with either. Are you running a fever, too?

Hang in there...unfortunately, we can have some set backs with surgery:(

I had the same thing happen. They put a drain tube in my belly to drain the fluid around the abscess in hopes that it would take off the pressure and allow it to heal. It didn't so we did a "colonsocopy" and saw the little hole causing all the problems and I decided to have surgery on it. I guess there were other options but I just wanted to be done with it so I can start to heal.

The surgery was pretty invasive. He went back into my lap scar and sealed the hole and scraped out any adhesions. I was swollen for a few weeks. The hospital visit was almost a week and it was so painful. But I'm glad I did it because a month later- I FEEL GREAT!!! no more pain; no more problems.
