tightness in abdominal region ...

Sounds like the tissue is stitching back together and the pain might be from adhesions. If it's not unbearable I wouldnt worry about it.

My husband's been having the same thing (also had his surgery 3 weeks ago) they said it was due to the scar tissue sticking together/to bits inside him - he's started moving around a lot more and while that hurt for a couple of days it's been so much better since as he doesn't really have any pain at all now. Even if it's just walking around the house, sitting, standing etc it should help.

Still let your doctor know though.

I had the same feeling of tightness in the first month. It was so bad that I had to bend my body forward a little bit when I walked. I asked my doctor if I should try to stretch myself and be 'upright' He said I shouldn't give myself too much stress. "Listen to your body", he said.
And then the tightness feeling went away gradually. I could stand and walk upright. Now, 7 weeks post-surgery, I can walk almost as fast as before.
Co-incidentally, I had night sweats from mid April till last Sunday for no reason. It was so bad in the beginning that I had to get up in the middle of the night to change. Then I caught a cold because of this, coughed and had a runny nose for 3 weeks. I can't complain since it didn't hurt when I coughed.

As for the colour of the output, mine was green at first, then greenish brown after 2 weeks. Now it's brown all the time. Maybe because I'm taking 1 Metamucil capsule 3 times a day.

By the way, Anthony, do you have a lot of gas in your pouch? I wake up every morning after 8-9 hours of sleep with a balloon. I've tried everything I know but nothing helps. It's not too bad because the gas doesn't hurt and I don't feel it in my sleep. It makes no noise either.
I don't have this problem during the daytime. Funny.

hey guys, I just had a quick question about this. Do you think it could be a bad case of gas or possibly my small bowels not awakening yet? Today was weird ... in a good way though. I was passing a lot of gas and all of a sudden I felt like a million dollars. It was short-lived. It lasted for like 4 hours and now I am starting to get the sharp pains again. I have stopped taking pain killlers to see if maybe that had any effect on my non-progress. Just curious. Thanks, and have a great weekend!

It took sometime for my sm. intestines to really wake back up probably over a month which is normal..

Please contact your doctor...fevers are nothing to mess with even when controlled with Tylenol! Your doc needs to determine that everything is ok or what could be going on.

i didn't go for any tests yet. Seeing doc this fridday. Though, when I was in hospital they did CT scans as well as X-Rays.

I am the queen of adhesions. I think the tightness is likely adhesions. I had this disastrous pelvic floor restoration surgery that ended up with my colon, rectum, and small bowel being scarred in. All that could be done for me was lysis of small bowel adhesions and permanent ileo. So far luckily I'e been OK except I've had some food blockages luckily passed with hot tea and grape juice. But I have inquired into is there a reason for these? THey were on mashed potato and cottage cheese, chips, and cookies. I did ask if I should have an image test. Just wondered if they did anything different than I had prior to the adheison lysis and I see that they still use the same tests. Thanks Anthony. Good luck to you. Rosemary

First couple of weeks had to walk bent over. Since then not any pain. Some soreness once in awhile. Last night had to empty twice was pretty full. But I don't get much air anymore.
