Excited....

Hi everyone!

Sorry i've been so quiet lately....the reason... my husband and I have been chosen as possible candidates for the Napa Rally 5000. It's the Canadian version of Bullrun, except the cars are supplied and instead of car challanges it is mechanical challanges. It is a reality TV show that will follow the contetants as they drive across Canada in 9 days. The vote started today.....so if you can, please log in and vote for Neil and Allie (the prairies)....and I will show the world that ostomates can do ANYTHING!!!!!!

I went to vote but when I registered it says "Registration and contest entry is reserved for Canadian residents who have achieved the age of majority in their province or territory". Does this mean my vote won't count?

Thanks everyone! It is so exciting especially as Neil and I are in the lead! The rally is great exposure for not only our shop (Pug City Euroworks) but also for ostomates everywhere. I personally have never heard a negative thing about an ostomy and all of my friends know that I have a colostomy, heck, most of them visited me in the hospital and I was proudly showing him off then, but this is such a great way to show everyone, especially potential ostomates that it IS possible to do anything you darn well please.
If you haven't voted, please do as every vote counts (Americans too!!!!!) and please send the addy to everyone you know and ask them to vote as well.

What a testimony you have to share! If you get chosen to compete in this contest, which I think you will, it will be an amazing platform for you to share your story.

I've worked at a large church for over 10 years, so when I got sick with Crohn's, people were praying for me, and when I had surgery 7 years later, they were praying then, too. Most of them know that I had my colon removed and are thrilled to see me healthy now. Many of them have shared with me that they have family members who are sick due to a digestive disease. I feel like God is using me to show them that life can be really good with an ostomy, if surgery is needed for their loved one. Just last week, a couple told me that their grandson had his colon removed a few months ago and is doing great! The joy on their faces was priceless.

I'm so excited for you!

Thanks to all of you for your support, the hubby and I will be participating in the Napa Rally 5000.

For those of you who don't know what it is, it is a road rally across Canada, driving 5000 km's in 9 days. Insane, and im doing it all thanks to Oscar (my colostomy)

Make sure to check out all the action (webisodes on YouTube and on the OLN)....and watch a person with an ostomy not only live life, but be a participant as well. YAY!!!!!
