Peltzier, I was reading earlier posts from the Colectomy thread. You mentioned (in July?) that you were going in for immunoglobulin therapy. I also use an IG product, and wondered if you might care to chat about
it. No worries if you'd rather not. It's just that it isn't very common to find another person with immuno issues on top of everything else here!

Rottiemum,
I don't have auto-immune issues, at least this is what current data indicate although a possible connection between aito-immune diseases and diffuse motility disorder/CIP is known.
I had it done since the docs hoped that it might improve my severely impaired bladder function (which also results from my CIP) and my GI issues if my CIP was auto-immune related. But it failed, I had no improvement at all, but developed severe side effects, in particular aseptic meningitis I still struggle somewhat with ....I am not going to continue the therapy.

Well, the aseptic meningitis sucks! Gah!! I do my IG doses subcutaneously, once a week at home. My issue is def an immune disease, but I do know that we (those with my immuno disease) tend to have auto-immune issues develop, too. I am always keeping an ear to any links between GI and immune dysfunctions.

the link defintely exists...just google and much will show up. e.g. in lupus and SLE there may be severe bowel involvement, too.
