Well, it was bound to happen eventually. I have had an ileostomy for 4 years and got my first blowout at 3:30 am this morning! I rolled over in bed, felt something wet, turned on the light, and there it was... poo all over me and the bed!
My husband was sound asleep, and I was so embarrassed, because I knew I was going to have to wake him up to change the sheets. But, first I had to take a shower and put on a new wafer and pouch. By the time I had finished, the dogs had woken him up, because they thought this was the best thing EVER... mommy smelled like poo!!
He got up to take the dogs out, saw that I had taken a shower, and asked if everything was okay. I told him that I had a blowout, to which he said, very casually, "Aww, that's okay, s#*t happens." I just busted out laughing!!
He wasn't phased in the least, and that's just one of the many reasons why I love him! It's amazing how that phrase has a whole new meaning to me now.
Hope you all have a great day!
