Hey everyone.. I had my ileostomy on June 22nd and ever since I've had the ostomy bag the left side would start pulling up in about
a day but that was because my incision was still wheeping.. but I was still getting 3-5 days.... and now that that's slowed down my ENTIRE area around my stoma is just in horrible shape. about
2 bag changes ago I ITCHED the heck out of the whole area down there and i think I really really messed my skin up... ever since that next bag change everything down there just has a nasty thick wetness to it and my wafers are just not holding up. I changed my most recent yesterday morning. and it's now time for another change as my whole wafer is peeling up all around 360 degrees... also when I change the bag it now looks like the whole wafer is just eaten away and is like a weird puffy white texture with no stick to it?
I don't know what's going on but I wish this wasn't happening, if this would stop I would be sooooo happy and just fine with the whole ostomy bag "life"... this is just turning into a bigger and bigger pain though.
By the way:
I'm using hollister one piece system.
First clean around the area with warm water and a paper towel.
Blow dry completely dry.
Stoma powder on all the horribly irritated skin.
Blow dry again to get the excess powder off.
No-sting skin barrier.
Blow dry again.
Stoma paste around the stoma hole.
Stick the bag on and hold hand over the wafer area for about 10 minutes
I NEED HELPPPP Any tips for bag change with irritated skin is needed! I haven't eaten today as i new i was going to be changing my bag in the middle of the day and i would love to eat soon! haha so i'm gonna change the bag within the next hour or so..
Thank in advance everyone
