wafer swells around stoma

Does anyone else have this problem.  My pouch stays on well but the wafer swells up around the stoma.  I am afraid that this will cause it to leak. I talked to them at Hollister and they said it was just something that the wafer does.

Mine do that too, also use Hollister. I just have to cut the hole a little bigger to allow for the swelling. I haven't had any problems with it leaking in 4 years.

NASCARON what products do you use. I just started using the convex wafer because my stoma don't stickout very far. I was having sometimes 2 leaks aday. I started using them along with the adapt rings and also using the belt. I have not had a leak now in over a week. Never went that long before.

I wonder how many of us use the belt's and for how long? I wear mine for a few hours after a change day, otherwise it sit's in the drawer until the next change.

some brands 'turtleneck' around the stoma to protect the area...I think Convatec does not sure about the others.

I wear one piece convatec 400598 that does not turtleneck. I have a retracted stoma. I triied one that does turtleneck and had a terrible leak problem. When my stoma would contract and turn a little sideways it just pumped the sewage out under the turtleneck.

I wear my belt 24-7 also. For some reason I just feel safer with it on and I don't even notice it being there.
