I got psoriasis after being on Remi for 9 months. It is really bad on my hands and one of my feet. I am still a little itchy on my stomach and back but for the most part it is gone there. I was broke out all over in red, scaly spots. It started as a pimple like bump then turned red and scaly.

I was just wondering if any of you had skin problem when you had surgery and how did it affect recovery? My surgery is scheduled Nov. 1.

I have palmoplantur pustolosis (a VERY stubborn form of psoriasis) on the bottom of my feet and the palms of my hands. It starts as tiny yellow filled blisters, then a day later they go down and a brown spot appears in it's place then it goes all scaly and flakes off. I know of at least one other UCer who has this (and neither of us were on Remicade). I'm guessing, in my case, it's just another auto-immune thingy. I got it about 15 - 20 years after my ileo op though.

when i was getting remi there were people getting it as a cure for psoriasis.
Before i had surgery, i would have these horrible skin problems with my hands, they would be so dry they would bust open, i went to lots of drs they could never figure out what it was swore it wasnt psoriasis. But anyway, after surgery, i still have it, but not nearly as bad.

That's the way mine are. My hand and feet just won't heal. They hurt really bad. I get the small puss blister and then it spreads. Still have scales and itchiness on legs and torso, but they have healed for the most part. GI and Dermotologist think it was caused by Remi. Dermotologist thinks it could be from being on Pred so long also. It is funny how the meds that treat these diseases also can cause them.

I'm having great success with antibiotic, Doxycline. I read about it on a PPP (Palmoplantur Psoriasis message board) and asked my doc if he would prescribe it for me. He did and a week later, my hands are clear and my feet (which were much worse) are 75% better than they were :) They're the best they've ever been in about 10 years - Yahoo!!!!!
