I am still trying to find the appliance that works the best for me and that I like.

I do not like the way that Hollister and Coloplast wafers swell up around my stoma.

I read someones post on here that they used ConveTec and that it did not swell up.

Ok.  I called and got some samples from them.  I really do like the wafers.  I just really

don't like the pouches.  The one they sent me had a little safety tab on it.  Other than that one what other kinds of pouches do they had that any of you use and like.

Any of your suggestions will be appreciated.

I have worn convatec one piece pouch 400598 for almost three years. The seal does not swell up. I tried the convatec that swells up and it was wrong for me. My stoma is recessed and had blowouts often.

What is the safety tab you mention? What is the number of the pouch you have? What type of closure?

The pouch is SUR-FIT Natura Drainable pouch with InvisiClose Tail Closure # 413334
The wafer is SUR-FIT Natura Durahesive wafer w/CONVEX-IT # 413181
I loved that the wafer did not swell up around my stoma, but I don't really like the closure typy of the pouch. I could go with a one piece as long as the wafer was the same and the tail closure was different.
I am going to call them tomorrow to see what else they have. Wish me luck.

'Turtlenecking' is actually a selling point! It is supposed to help protect your skin.

@NASCARon I think it's the second step of the closure where the tab Velcro's around the folded up tail.

I am getting used to it. I think I have another problem. I think I am allergic to the collar around the wafer. My skin is red and itchy. I never did get this way with Hollister. Any ideas?
Another Question. I have received some of the modables in the mail and I am going to try them. My question is, do they turtleneck. I just wondered because of the way you roll them. my problem is that the Hollister and Coloplast turtleneck so far out they come out further than my stoma. That causes me problems. I do get the convex ones.
I still say it would be great if we could take all the things we like about each different brand and make the one we want it would be great.

I have not personally tried them but one of the nurses I had in the hospital was using conve tec and told me they were the way to go. She said she could bend and move around really well and swim and everything. When I use up the supplies they sent me home with I will probably try them. She did say not to buy their glue. It was not need and it cracks and makes it hard to move.

I am also sensitive to the tape collars of both Hollister and Convatec flanges. I phoned Convatec and Hollister and was given some samples of flanges without the tape collars. My skin is more happy with Convatec (flange 413155). I have been using it for a couple of months without any problem.
