colonoscopy with colostomy

I'm getting a colonoscopy next week to try and determine if I do in fact have UC or if i've been misdiagnosed for 4 years and instead have Chron's. My dr's instructions were not ostomy specific and I was wondering if any of the other colostomates on here had some info for me. (I am planning on calling the doc too) I was wondering if I will have to take my appliance off to do the procedure and also if I should be doing the regular miralax prep. I'm afraid my bag will fill up too fast for me to empty it and blow out. I've heard some people just do enemas in their stoma. Also, I'm getting my rectum scoped while I'm under as well since i still have mucous and blood from it. No one told me to do anything with it enema wise which seems odd to me. Thoughts? Comments? Last colonoscopy I had was a piece of cake! My doc just went up through the bag so I didn't need to take it off. I WAS surprised that I had to do the same prep work though :-(.

thanks for the replies! I finally got a call back from my doctor's office and they still want me to do the regular prep, but I can stop drinking the stuff as soon as my output is clear but still a bit yellow. Plus they said I could start it earlier than 5, since i was worried about having a blowout overnight since there's no more urge waking me up. But i also found out i need to do two enemas because my rectum is getting scoped as well. Never done and enema before and not looking forward to it.
