macgirl,
be sure you warm up the wafer. i usually keep it under my leg or inside my bra for about 10 minutes before i apply it, then i hold my hand over it and the bag for about 10 minutes after i have it all on. l
(if i use a seal i do the same kind of warming method for it.)
there is a lot of trial and error with all kinds of "toys" we can use to make our individual pouching issues get resolved. the supply companies love to get calls from us newbies. you tel them what problems you have and they are very knowledgeable about their products and will often send you free samples to try. just call and ask!
hang in there and dont get discouraged. it seemed at first i had soooo many leaks, esp at night, i'd wake up with anything from a small puddle of sewage beside me to a full blow off of the bag. (thank the good lord, it rarely ever happens now). it's a good idea to pad your bed well at first to keep from ruining the mattress. i dont know how many times i did a complete bed change in the middle of the night, alternating between fits of frustrated tears and laughing hysterically at how artistic the splotches could look. (after i did a complete pouching change)
good luck
