Darn Ladder popped my pouch off!!

So I needed to open some vents in the baby's room tonight and got out my ladder, I reach the 3rd rung and I hear a *snap* *plop* and then briefly a sensation of freedom :)
While I was climbing the top of the Coloplast Sensura Click pouch got caught on a rung and decided it no longer wanted to be attached to me. Luckily I had just emptied otherwise there would have been a huge mess!! I had to end up changing the wafer and all cuz poop got all over it and it wasn't coming off.

So ... you Coloplast click users or even the Convatec or Hollister crew .... ever happened to you? I decided to give the Coloplast flex system another shot as it seems like it has a lower profile and less chance of getting caught on a ladder and popping off!!

i tuck mine up into my undies and tape the top to my stomach so there isnt really anything to get caught, but i hope it never happens!

oops... how annoying! i also use the coloplast sensura, but nothing like that ever happened to me (fingers crossed). i usually wear a regular bikini undies and on top of it and on my pouch - a ladies boxers undies - those really help keeping everything in place.

hummm it looks like shorts actually. it's cotton and it's tight, but not too tight and very comfortable and fits just right for me to keep my pouch in place. with these i don't feel i need a belt or anything, cause they also go high up above my belly button, so it covers it all. i'm sure you guys have something like that in the u.s.

I know when I change my pouch I check to make sure I have it one correctly...I can pull on the little tap (below the snap) and it won't pull off but if I pull on the snap itself it comes right off!

ucfree ~ since the snap moves can you move it to another spot? Maybe on the inside it won't catch?

I have the 2 piece hollister system and this last weekend, I was cleaning stuff off the bed and my pouch got caught in a bag on the bed and completely pulled off... and it was in the middle of outputting... what a mess.

ladies boxers are probably what we call boy shorts, and those would help.  or wear a belly band around it.

Sorry to hear about the ladder incident. sad I've caught my wafer on a lot of things, but have never had the pouch pop off. You must have hit it pretty hard or maybe it wasn't completely snapped on and locked. That has happened to me, but luckily, I caught it in time.

Lately, I've been wearing boy shorts for girls, too, thanks to summerstorm's suggestion. They're great at holding everything in place, and my hubby likes them, too! wink

Yeah, how exactly do you get your bag caught in a bag?

Hi there,

My hubby has had bowel cancer and is 5 weeks out of his operation. He has the black stretchy boxer type shorts that
fit nice and snug to hold the bag in place. The Ostomy Association supplies all kinds of goodies to make life more comfortable. Although we are not in the USA I'm sure your supplier would have a catalog for you to buy from.
Go easy on the ladders from now on

I much prefer the Flex to the Click. If you don't get the Click just right, it pops off.

Also, the Flex seems to be less itchy.

I thought it was bad luck to walk under a ladder, not climb on it... :)
